MALAYSIA: The Joint Committee on Climate Change (JC3) has held its 8th meeting on the 29th August 2022 and reviewed ongoing work by its subcommittees, a joint statement from the co-chairs of the committee, Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), confirmed.
The committee discussed the ongoing priorities including the first report submission on the application of the Climate Change and Principle-based Taxonomy by financial institutions to BNM, the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures application guide for Malaysian financial institutions, the newly launched Sustainable and Responsible Investment-linked Sukuk Framework by the SC and the data catalogue developed by JC3 which is targeted to be published at the end of 2022.
