GLOBAL: The IsDB Institute (IsDBI) is working on an initiative to establish Awqaf Free Zones in IsDB member countries, where Waqf assets can be preserved and Waqf transactions monitored through blockchain technology, a press release said.
The initiative was revealed by Dr Sami Al-Suwailem, the IsDBI’s acting director-general, during the 15th IFSB Public Lecture, where he delivered a lecture on the role of Islamic finance in actualizing the SDGs.
