MALAYSIA: SME Bank has recorded a sustainability Sukuk issuance under its bookbuilding exercise with a total order of RM536 million (US$120.29 million), a statement confirmed. The book order exceeded the initial desired size of RM300 million (US$67.32 million), receiving a good demand from local financing institutions, fund management and insurance companies and government-linked investment companies.
The proceeds from this issuance under the non-government guarantee Sukuk Wakalah program will be utilized to finance ESG-related projects.
