MALAYSIA: RHB Islamic Bank has partnered with Perbadanan Nasional (PERNAS) to launch the B40 Empowerment Strategy – Be Your Own Boss Programme, a statement confirmed. The program aims to empower 42 pre-franchise microentrepreneurs from the Asnaf and B40 segments through the utilization of Zakat funds in the form of grants as well as by providing structured training, business matching, financing and business monitoring.
Under the program, eligible participants can apply for grants of up to RM10,000 (US$2,151.12), which is part of RHB Islamic Bank’s Zakat Wakalah initiative totaling RM500,000 (US$107,556), as well as additional financing under the Business In Transformation Pre-Franchise Financing Scheme.
