MALAYSIA: The Malaysian government has announced its plan to launch the Padi Crop Takaful Scheme to provide a compensation of up to RM3,000 (US$668.9) per hectare per season for farmers negatively affected by factors beyond their control, such as floods, droughts, plant diseases and pest attacks, reported Bernama.
