GLOBAL: A Malaysian delegation, which was led by Ewon Benedick, the minister of entrepeneur and cooperatives development, and includes SME Bank Malaysia, has met with Yacine El Mahdi Oualid, the Algerian minister of knowledge economy, start-ups and micro-enterprises, a LinkedIn post read.
During the meeting, Malaysia expressed interest in collaborating with Algeria on initiatives that include participation in SME Bank’s business export and capacity-building programs, providing expertise in Islamic banking to support Algeria’s financial sector and promoting digital banking and cashless transactions in Algeria.
Meanwhile, Algeria is interested in collaborating with Malaysia on social entrepreneurship and the promotion of a cashless economy in Algeria, among other initiatives.
