GLOBAL: The IsDB Group is monitoring the development of the war in eastern Europe and continuously reassessing its impact on the humanitarian situation and development contexts in IsDB member countries, particularly more fragile and vulnerable states such as Yemen, Somalia and Syria, as well as the situation of alimentary security in some MENA member countries, particularly those which rely on Russian and Ukrainian wheat, such as Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria, said Dr Rami Ahmed, the group’s G20 sherpa and special advisor to the IsDB president.
According to an official statement, Dr Rami confirmed IsDB Group’s support for the proposed agenda of the second G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting, which was to be held on the 20th April 2022. In particular, the group highlighted support for issues related to global health and sustainable finance issues and expressed hope that the FMCBG agenda will cater for developing and least developed countries.
