MALAYSIA: Ethis Group and Gobi Partners have collaborated to set up a US$20 million Shariah compliant seed fund, a statement confirmed. Targeted to have its first closing by the end of 2022, it is Ethis Group’s first effort in the venture capital space and Gobi Partners’s first fully Shariah compliant seed fund. The partnership seeks to contribute to the growth of start-ups in the Halal economy. The fund focuses on the broader ethical investment agenda and the post-pandemic emphasis on ESG and sustainable investments that stretch beyond the Muslim community.
