MALAYSIA: Bank Islam Malaysia has opened its first green branch at Temerloh in the state of Pahang, a LinkedIn post read. The new relocated branch is equipped with solar panels, a rainwater harvesting system and motion, light and heat sensors, the bank said. The Sungai Petani branch is also currently undergoing renovation and will be the bank’s second green branch by the end of the year.
Bank Islam aims to open five more sustainable branches in 2023.
