SOUTH AFRICA: The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) has registered and approved Agrarius Sustainability Engineered (Agrarius)’s ZAR10 billion (US$566.06 million) Shariah compliant sustainability related asset-backed note program, a statement confirmed.
Proceeds raised under the program will be invested in sustainable and green projects in the agriculture sector value chain.
ISFI previously reported that the inaugural Sukuk issuance under the program will be worth ZAR500 million (US$28.3 million), and will finance between five to 10 projects.
