MALAYSIA: The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has set up the national-level Advisory Committee on Sustainability Reporting (ACSR) to support the implementation of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (ISSB Standards) in Malaysia, according to a press release. The ACSR, which is chaired by the SC, comprises representatives from Bank Negara Malaysia, Bursa Malaysia, the Companies Commission of Malaysia, the Audit Oversight Board and the Financial Reporting Foundation.
The committee will look into enablers that would support the implementation of the ISSB Standards in Malaysia, such as the approach and timeline for the implementation, taking into consideration market readiness to meet the reporting requirements.
The ISSDB Standards are expected to be issued by the end of June this year.
