GLOBAL: ESG-linked Sukuk are likely to persist as a key issuance theme in core Islamic finance jurisdictions, Fitch Ratings announced in a report. The expected persistence of the issuance theme is driven by government initiatives promoting sustainability and economic diversification, along with rising investor demand and awareness. Outstanding ESG-linked Sukuk grew by 11.2% quarter-on-quarter in the second quarter of 2022, reaching US$19.3 billion. About US$4.3 billion-worth of ESG-linked Sukuk were issued in the first quarter of the year.
